Home/iPad screen, smooth to the touch again

iPad screen,
smooth to the touch again.

iPads lead busy lives — school bags, kitchen benches, back seats of cars. When the glass finally gives in, we'll put it right without fuss.

An iPad screen repair isn't quite the same job as a phone screen, and it pays to know the difference. On many standard iPads — think iPad 5 through 9 — the touch glass and the LCD underneath are two separate parts. If the glass is cracked but the picture underneath is still perfect, often only the glass layer needs replacing, which keeps the job simpler and easier on the wallet. On iPad Air, iPad mini and iPad Pro models the glass and display come as one laminated unit, so the whole panel is replaced together.

Signs your iPad screen needs attention

  • Cracked or shattered glass, even if the picture still looks fine
  • Dead zones where touch or Apple Pencil input stops registering
  • Lines, flickering or dark blotches across the display
  • Glass lifting away from the frame at a corner or edge

How we put it right

We start with a free diagnosis to work out exactly which layer is damaged — glass, display, or both — and whether anything else took a knock in the fall. iPads use a lot of adhesive, so the old glass comes off slowly and carefully with heat, keeping the antennas, cables and (on home-button models) the original Touch ID button safe. That last part matters: the home button is paired to your iPad, so we always transfer the original rather than fit a substitute.

Once the new screen is in, we test touch across the whole surface, check the corners and edges sit flush, and make sure everything from rotation to Apple Pencil input behaves before handing it back.

Which models we work on

We handle the full range — standard iPad, iPad Air, iPad mini and iPad Pro, current and older generations alike. If you're not sure which one you've got, don't worry: bring it in or read us the model number from the back, and we'll take it from there with a clear quote before any work begins.

Bring it in — we'll take a look.

No charge for the diagnosis, no pressure either way. Call, email, or simply drop by the bench.
